► “The Ransom Sacrifice” is an inherent Christian, and especially a Jehovah’s Witness, doctrine. It means, like in a real hostage scenario, Satan supposedly ‘abducted’ humanity and God had to ‘pay him his extortion fee’ to get them back. Moreover, “it pleased” God to see Jesus pay with His incomprehensible suffering, until Satan eventually decided to set his captives free.’ (Rom. 5:12; Isa. 53:9.)

However, the “ransom sacrifice” dogma was manufactures from the misinterpretation of the words “wrath,” “bondage,” and “ransom,” in the context of God’s Love for the world, which manifested in Jesus’ sacrifice for all believing humanity. In context, the ‘wrath’ of God is not vindictive hatred, but the righteous verdict of the Most High and Holy Judge of the universe for those who transgressed His Law!

· What’s more, SATAN COULD NEVER ‘STEAL OR ABDUCT’ HUMANITY! Scripture makes it plain that since the day of creation until all eternity, “all the souls are God’s.” He created them and He Alone will ultimately decide even their final destinations according to their personal choices, (Ezk. 18:4; Deut. 30:19; Jn. 1:12-13!)

Because God is the Creator of everything, Satan, who is a mere rebellious creature of God, had to ASK His permission to “test” the righteous Job, while the unrepented sins of kings and other Israelis actually “came upon their own heads,” or “recoiled on themselves,” (Psalm 7:16.) It is still the same under Jesus’ New Covenant, where believers dare not give the devil a “foothold” in their minds, (thoughts and beliefs,) to deceive and control them! (Job 1:6-12; Ezk. 3:18; Eph. 4:27.) Yet, the “tests” we still have to “pass” by “overcoming the wiles” or schemes of the devil, remain, (Rom. 5:1-5.) No one could or can be ‘abducted’ or “plucked” out of God’s hand, (Jn. 10:28!) Not before the fall, after the fall, or today in the lives of true believers, (Rom. 5:12.) Similarly, no one will be ‘abducted’ to heaven, or forcibly dragged to hell without their consent. That would nullify our free choice of salvation, discipleship, and eternal life. Heaven and hell are personal choices, as Satan can never forcefully drag humanity out of the presence of God. Thus, it is ridiculous to believe that a ‘hostage’ drama took place at the fall. Humanity’s own choice to sin immediately separated them from God. Most terribly, at the moment they sinned, they actually transgressed God’s entire Law: the commandments He gave to them in the garden. As a result, they “died” spiritually and their souls or minds, (will, intellect, and emotions) were corrupted, (Gen. 2:17! 1 Ths. 5:23; Rom. 12:1-2.) They suddenly found themselves outside the presence of God in a hopeless position of lostness, darkness, and cursedness without Him, (Gen. 3:24.) Then, this fallen state “entered the world… and death spread to all men” (Rom. 5:12 KJV.)

· DID SATAN KEEP HUMANITY “IN BONDAGE” AFTER THAT, so that they could not defy sin or choose salvation? God created angels, humans, and even animals with a free will to make their own choices, (Deut. 30:15-19; Jn. 1:12-14.) The completely holy and innocent Adam and Eve freely chose to disobey God to believe Satan. Deception is not a forced assault. Even when coaxed, pressured, and battered, we must still choose to accept lies and manipulation to be deceived and controlled, or refuse to surrender to darkness and obey God.

The real, devastating result of the fall was that all of humanity came under the “DECEPTIVE POWER” of Satan, (1 Jn. 5:18—19!) This is the crux of Satan’s power that still leads to spiritual death. Even in the garden, he knew he simply had to gain power over humanity’s thoughts and beliefs to CONTROL them, (2 Cor. 10:3-6! Rom. 8:1-8!) “The battle is really for the minds of men!” Whoever ‘controls’ the mind, controls the man. So, where the Bible speaks about “the sinful flesh,” it does not refer to our sinless natural bodies, but our “corrupted, canal minds” which have always guided our decisions and choices on a multilevel! So, since the fall, all Adam and Eve’s descendants were born into their spiritual state of lostness, while their corrupt minds were easily influenced by their fallen parents, (Rom. 5:12.)

· SATAN DID NOT “HOLD ABDUCTED HUMANITY HOSTAGE,” they chose to disobey God and God Himself cast them out of His Holy presence, (Gen. 3:23-24 KJV.) Therefore, it is a satanic lie that Adam and Eve were “abducted” and “kept against their will” in “complete bondage” to Satan, (Jn. 1:1-4!) This is what Islam and Calvinism calls “total depravity” or the false predestination dogma, as humanity supposedly cannot choose either God’s salvation or the amount of sin they commit. God allegedly chooses everything for them.

Since time immemorial, God wrote His Moral Law on all of humanity’s hearts, (Jer. 31:33; Rom. 2:14-15; Heb. 10:16.) It is God’s inward Moral law, which the Holy Spirit uses to “convict the WHOLE WORLD of sin, righteousness [in Christ,] and judgement...” Obedience to the Moral Law in Holy-Spirit conviction is how “He leads [everyone who chooses to obey Him] into all truth… to glorify Jesus,” (Jn. 16:8-14.) Additionally, Romans 1:20-21 KJV teaches, “Since the creation of the world God’s invisible [existence] can be clearly seen and understood by the things that He made, even His eternal power and Godhead, [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,] so [everyone] is without excuse [to remain in Satan’s darkness of deception and under his control,]” (Col. 2:9!)

· WHAT WAS HUMANITY’S DEBT EXACTLY, AND HOW COULD THEY ‘PAY’ THEIR DEBT TO COME INTO A RIGHT STANDING BEFORE GOD’S THRONE? As no atonement could be offered in the garden, they immediately fell from grace into darkness without God and became “naked” outside the presence of God, (Gen. 3:7-14.)

As God Himself cast them out of the garden, (His presence,) and their “sentence” was spiritual death and the corruption of their minds, HUMANITY’S DEBT WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE TO GOD THEIR CREATOR, not to Satan.

James 2:10 states, “Whoever breaks one commandment is guilty of breaking them all...” That is why keeping the whole Law can never be accomplished in ordinary human terms. Any kind of ‘offering’ or sacrifice of fallen humanity would always be tainted with sin and thus be incomplete. So, the “DEBT” HUMANITY OWED TO GOD, (the impossibility to fulfill His entire Law to come into a right standing with Him again,) was solely between them and their Creator. Satan had absolutely no say in the matter, (Gen. 3:15!) As he still does, Satan merely took advantage of their free-willed choice to disobey their Most High Creator, King, and Judge to gain power over them, (2 Cor. 20:3-5!)

· THE ‘RANSOM SACRIFICE’ OF SATAN VERSUS JESUS’ CHOICE TO FULFILL THE ENTIRE LAW IN OUR PLACE. Jesus totally debunked the so-called “ransom” He had to pay ‘until Satan tortured Him to his satisfaction,’ or until God’s ‘wrath’ was supposedly justified. He said in John 10:17-18, “…No one takes [My life] from Me. [Only God could declare that!] I have power to [willingly] lay it down, and I have power to take it up again…”

The “price” or rather “the requirement of God to justification in the sight of the entire Law” to enter into God’s presence, Kingdom, and eternal life in heaven, was not a “ransom” as we understand that word. (Releasing an abducted prisoner for an extortion fee.) Only Jesus’ willing fulfilment of His entire Law in the place of all humanity, (Gal. 5:1-6,) could bring spiritually dead and corrupted humanity back to life, holiness, and blessedness in Him, (Jn. 3:16-18.) Galatians 2:16-21, “No one is JUSTIFIED by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, [the Only One Who could fully fulfil the whole Law to JUSTIFY us before God’s holy throne…] While we seek to be justified [even by His full justification for us,] we ourselves also are found [incapable of fully obeying Him according to His Moral Law...]” (John 13:34!)

Humanity is SO incapable of achieving righteousness or justification through the fulfilment of God’s Law, that Jesus did not actually give His blood in “exchange” for ours as in “paying our ransom.” Our tainted sacrifice would have been worthless and it would have been an unfair ‘exchange’ that would not have been acceptable to God.

JESUS ATONED FOR IT ALL IN FULL FOR US AND WE ARE NOWHERE IN THIS PICTURE OF OUR COMPLETE JUSTIFICATION EXCEPT TO BELIEVE IN HIM AND ACCEPT HIM AND HIS FULL ATONEMENT IN OUR PLACE, (Col. 2:8-15!) Likewise, He did not give His life in “exchange” for our lives. Giving our lives to fulfill God’s Law would also have been utterly worthless. “As death came through Adam, so life came through Jesus Christ!” (Rom. 5:12-16.) We must merely believe it and gratefully accept it!

This free gift of life from death is because “GOD SO [VERY MUCH] LOVED THE [WHOLE WORLD,] THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, SO THAT WHOEVER [PERSONALLY CHOOSE TO] BELIEVE IN HIM, WILL NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.” Paul echoed this wonderful declaration in Colossians 2: 19-23. It reads, “It pleased the Father that in Christ all the fullness [of the Godhead] should dwell, (verse 9,) and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, whether things on the earth or in heaven, having made peace through the blood of Jesus Christ, (Eph. 1:7; 12-14.) And you, who once were alienated and enemies IN YOUR MINDS, [which produced] wicked works, He now has reconciled in the body of His [own] flesh through death, to present you holy, blameless, and above reproach in His sight - if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not [enticed or provoked] away from the hope of the Gospel [that is written in the Bible…]”
